On Thursday morning (14/7), a group of FISIP UNDIP Alumni from the class of 76 consisting of 50 people visited the UNDIP Pleburan campus. They were welcomed by the Chairperson of the Doctor of Public Administration Study Program, Dr Dra. Retno Sunu Astuti, M.Si, and the Chairperson of the Doctor of Political Science Study Program, Yuwanto, PhD. All of the participants remembered their good memories as students back in time when they were studying on the Pleburan campus.
Dr. Dra. Retno Sunu Astuti, M.S in her short speech welcomed the alumni and recalled herself as one of the alumni of FISIP UNDIP back in the class of 81. She also praised the class of 76 for their solidarity, especially in their retirement period. In line with Dr. Retno, Mr Yuwanto also praised the class of 76 for their solidarity and felt grateful they were able to manage a fulfilling moment together and hoped lecturers in FISIP UNDIP were able to enjoy a good moment until retirement age in good health and able to carry out normal activities.
While enjoying delicacies such as wedang Ronde and boiled meals such as sweet potatoes, cassava, corn and bananas, the alumni enjoyed the atmosphere they had passed about 4 decades ago. Mas Pinem, who was the mascot of the class of 76, revealed that there were a lot of changes after they left the Pleburan campus, there were only a few buildings that did not change much like in room B.104.
This activity was continued with visitation to the FISIP UNDIP Tembalang Campus since the main event had been prepared by the Dean there. Located in the FISIP UNDIP Auditorium, Building A, 3rd floor, the event was very lively. They were welcomed by the Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Hardi Warsono, MT., along with the Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Po;. Admin., Vcie Dean of Resources, Ika Riswanti Putranti, SH., MH., Ph.D ., as well as the Administrative Managers, Chairpersons of Departments, and Study Program Managers in FISIP UNDIP. The alumni who mostly wore orange t-shirts were very happy.
In his warm welcome, the Dean asked the alumni if there was anyone who lived farthest from Semarang. Surprisingly, there were alumni who came all the way from Germany and Australia specifically to enliven this event. This was truly extraordinary, their enthusiasm and dedication in maintaining brotherhood since 1976 were still well managed then as explained by the Dean. Furthermore, Dr. Hadi Warsono explained that UNDIP’s graduates had the fastest period in gaining a job, and the university had ranked in the top 500 universities in the world. While enjoying the musical performance which played nostalgic songs prepared by the committee, the alumni really enjoyed the Selat Solo and Garang Asem dishes on the lunch menu.
During the series of reunions for the class of 76 FISIP UNDIP, the alumni also had the opportunity to take the Double Decker Bus “Si Denok” for their trip in Semarang. It was a collaboration between FISIP Undip and Semarang Government to prepare for the trip around the City of Semarang. The alumni seemed so blithesome during their time on the Double Decker bus. – wd –
